Jaipur Foot

Page history last edited by Angelo Amponin 14 years ago

Based on my research, Jaipur Foot was originated in India. In Wikipediia there is a statement:

"The Jaipur leg also known as Jaipur Foot is a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people with below-knee amputation, produced under guidance of Dr. P. K . Sethi by Masterji Ram Chander in 1969 for victims of landmine explosions. It is designed to be inexpensive, quick to fit and manufacture, and to be water-resistant. It costs approximately U.S. $40."

Basically, the innovation aspect of Jaipur Foot is an affordable, inexpensive foot for the poor. And this thing will be  a big help especially for the poor. In my opinion, this thing will help the poor people of continents Asia and Africa. In this case, the Indian people will benefit with the innovative thing because Jaipur Foot will provide benefciaries  on the people of India. Afghanistan is also one of the benefit of the Jaipur Foot because we all know that, in this country is a war-place or a war-zone which cause the people to be a limbless. Basically, this will help lots of people not only on part of Asia Africa and countries that are war-zone but also people on the 1st world countries can have benefits from this artificial foot.
